"Great souls have wills; feeble ones
have only wishes." - Chinese Proverb
Today was an off day in terms of
competition. We still got up early and headed to the pool
for warmups to stay in the routine. We did the same thing
in the evening. Whether the boys make finals or not, or if
they're even swimming or not, we want to be in the same routine
as if they had made finals so that, in the case that they do
qualify for an evening swim, their body isn't hit with something
new.
During the day,
between morning warmups and the evening workout, we hit Smoothie
King and went to see Step Brothers (their choice, not mine).
Murphy and Ben enjoyed it.... We ate lunch and then
relaxed at the hotel a bit before heading off to the pool again.
Finals warmups are a lot less crowded, and the boys actually had
some room to swim their strokes correctly and to get up to some
good speed. After evening warmups, we hit Smoothie King
again, grabbed dinner at Potbelly's and played cards in the
lobby for awhile. We played Peanut, and it turned into a
pretty competitive game. I thought Murphy and Keegan would
start a brawl, but it was all in good fun. Mrs. Shepherd
ended up beating us all, and I was so bad that I actually ended
up with negative points at the end of the game.
Tomorrow, Ben will be swimming
the 50 Butterfly. |
